Chocolate Chip Brownies

Last weekend was the Royal Wedding which kind of felt perfect for a bake. Also, I promised one of the girls from work that I would bake something for our tea and cake day at work to celebrate the Wedding. I chose nice simple chocolate chip brownies; chocolate craving has defiantly been met in this recipe.

Instructions
  1. Pre-heat the oven to 180 degrees; fan 160 degrees; gas 4. Grease a 30 x 23 cm(12x9in) traybake or roasting tin then line the base and sides with baking parchment.
  2. Measure all the ingredients into a large bowl and beat until evenly blended. Spoon the mixture into the prepared tin, scraping the sides of the bowl with a plastic spatula to remove all of it. Spread the mixture gently to the corners of the tin and level the top with the back of the spatula.
  3. Bake in pre-heated over for 40-45 minutes or until the brownies have a crusty top and a skewer inserted into the centre comes out clean. Cover loosely with foil for the last 10 minutes if the mixture is browning too much. Leave the brownies to cool in the tin and then cut into 24 squares. Store in an airtight tin.

I had two little helpers to help me with this recipe. My brother’s kids were at the house, so I thought I would get them to help me out. They loved helping me out but I think that is mainly because in my house after cakes have been made you can lick the bowl out of the last bits of the mixture.

Hope you like this recipe. It went down well at work and with the family.
