Ingredients

  • 225 g butter
  • 175 g golden caster sugar
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 275 g self-raising flour
  • 50 g porridge oats
  • 12 glaced cherries

Instructions

  • Pre-heat oven to gas mark 6. Line two baking trays with baking parchment.
  • Measure the butter, sugar, egg yolks, vanilla extract and flour into a mixing bowl and beat together to form a soft dough.
  • Divide into balls and then roll in the oats until covered. Flatten the balls slightly and top each with a cherry then put on the baking trays.
  • Bake in a pre-heated oven for about 20 minutes or until golden. Allow to cool slightly on the baking trays then lift on to a cooling rack.
