Pre-heat oven to gas mark 6. Line two baking trays with baking parchment.
Measure the butter, sugar, egg yolks, vanilla extract and flour into a mixing bowl and beat together to form a soft dough.
Divide into balls and then roll in the oats until covered. Flatten the balls slightly and top each with a cherry then put on the baking trays.
Bake in a pre-heated oven for about 20 minutes or until golden. Allow to cool slightly on the baking trays then lift on to a cooling rack.
